I'm Vinny and there are too many stations across Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) that me and other disabled people can’t use.
Find out if your local stations are step-free and please write to the rail company asking them to make rail travel more accessible!
We all have the right to travel freely whenever we want to, and for disabled people it shouldn’t be any different.
But I can’t physically get into some stations, and transferring between trains is often very difficult. Steps are a really big issue for me.
Leonard Cheshire research has found that over 40 per cent of all railway stations in Great Britain do not have step-free access available for disabled people.
Rail operators have a duty to disabled passengers. Write to them now asking about their plans to make train stations step-free.
